AIA FAQ

AIA’s FAQ

How much does liability insurance cost?

AIA does not offer insurance directly through our association. We do have relationships with insurance providers who offer our members a “group rate” discount. Insurance requirements vary by state and services offered in your spa. To obtain a personalized insurance quote please contact:
Marine Agency 800-763-4775, ask for Charlie
PPIB 415-475-4300, ask for Susan Etter

I am an aesthetic student. How will joining AIA help me?

We understand that starting a new career can be a bit scary if you do not have the right support network. As an aesthetic student, you will benefit from our association through continuing education classes offered at each International Congress of Esthetics Spa tradeshow (Miami, Dallas, Long Beach and Philadelphia), networking opportunities, and access to AIA mentors and advisors. You also receive a subscription to DERMASCOPE Magazine, which will keep you informed of new procedures, protocols, and techniques being developed in this ever-changing industry.

How many hours are required to get my license?

Aesthetic licensing varies by state. To see what your state requires, click here.

How many CEUs do I need to renew my aesthetic license?

CEU requirements vary by state and the license that you hold. To see what your state requires, click here.

I signed up for a membership. Now what?

Now that you have joined our association, you will receive an e-mail confirming your membership. This e-mail will contain discount information for each company we have partnered with. You will receive a member-in-good-standing certificate, a member identification card, and a CEU certificate in the mail within four to six weeks. Separately, you will receive your first copy of the monthly trade journal, DERMASCOPE Magazine, within six to eight weeks.

Where can I get CEUs?

AIA offers non-product biased continuing education at each ICES tradeshow. These classes offer CEUs in select states. We also sponsor the annual Professional Hair Removal Conference (PHRC), which offers a minimum of 15 CEUs each year. AIA has partnered with several schools and training facilities across the United States that offer post-graduate education as well. Click here for a list of schools that offer CEU courses.
